A Dong Silk - Having a bespoke suit made Having a bespoke suit made has always been a personal ambition of mine. After researching various tailors in Hoi An, I chose A Dong Silk for their strong reputation for quality and customer service — a decision I do not regret.

From the beginning, I was looked after with great care by Van, a knowledgeable and attentive sales assistant. We discussed every aspect of the suit in detail — the cut of the jacket, trousers, waistcoat, and shirts. What stood out to me was how flexible the process was. Every feature, from lapels to buttons to fit, could be customised to suit my taste and the purpose of the suit.

I had a very clear idea of what I wanted, and with Van’s support and thoughtful input, I was able to bring that vision to life. After settling the design, I chose from a wide range of high-quality fabrics, linings, and patterns. The selection process was efficient and well guided.

The speed of the service was particularly impressive. Within 24 hours, I had my first fitting at midday, and by the evening, my suit was complete — despite its complexity. I had a three-piece suit made, along with two pairs of trousers and three shirts.

While the pricing is slightly above the Hoi An average, the quality of both the tailoring and the service fully justifies it. For anyone looking for a well-made, high-quality suit with reliable and personal service, I can highly recommend A Dong Silk.

High Quality - Professional - Detailed - Fast tailoring The sheer amount of tailors in Hoi An is overwhelming upon first arrival. However, if you are looking for a professional experience with attention to detail and fast tailoring you can’t go wrong with A Dong Silk Tailors.

Before arrival I have already had a few specific items in mind and brought pictures. If you are more of a spontaneous person there are plenty of catalogues to find inspiration.

I’ve personally dealt with Dao who did an incredible job. She took the time to hear out my wishes, showed me a variety of fabrics, styles and was a professional through and through. The process of measuring, first fitting and second fitting as well as pickup was completed within two days.

Thank you again Dao. I can’t wait to come back and create new unique pieces for my wardrobe.

A super tailoring experience in Hoi An I was part of a party of four who, on a trip to Vietnam, were also stopping off in Hoi An for a few days. The ladies and I went to a number of tailors in that time. I really enjoyed the experience at A Dong Silk. Suong did a brilliant job in taking time to establish the best fabric, the right cut and the finer details for the suit I had made. If having a suit made, then i think one should always go for a premium fabric and they have a good selection here. The tailor did a super job first time, with no significant alterations required after the first fitting. I walked away with a suit and a spare pair of trousers for around $600 if i recall correctly. I would expect the same product in the UK may cost £1500+. Over time, i will learn if it is made as good as it looks and fits - if it is, I will be very, very happy with it. The ladies who had items made were also very happy with the finished product and service. If in Hoi An and want some really nice clothes made then head to Suong at A Dong Silk - i doubt you will be disappointed.

Worked with Dao at A Dong to get my husband a custom suit on our honeymoon. She really know suits, unlike us, and make the process of deciding on all the details very easy for him. It looked so good on the first fitting and after a few small tweaks it was perfect on our second fitting. I was really surprised by the quality and the experience was welcoming & easy. We spent a little above our budget for the 3 piece suit, but their prices are very transparent and the wool/cashmere blend fabric he picked looks & feels phenomenal. Everyone else we saw in the store was also having a great experience. So I think that speaks highly of them too.

Fantastic tailor experience with Loan Had a really amazing experience with Loan at A dong silk. Their fabric collection was vast and service impeccable. I initially ordered 4 items but after seeing the quality of their work I ended up ordering 11 items in total. Could not recommend more both loan and the shop more!

Brilliant Amazing amazing service from the Top Gear Tailor. They are very considerate and are careful to ensure that the clothes fit perfectly. They are happy to make any adjustments no matter how big or small. The person is who helped me Dung was very helpful. They are certainly not the cheapest in Hoi An , but if you want quality - come here.

BEST in Hoi An Dao and Van are AMAZING! We got three dresses for my wife, 2x wool trousers for myself and 2x blazers. The service is the best in Hoi An, and the quality is the best. I love their service. Four fittings and no hidden costs. We’ll be returning for sure. They’re RIGHTLY so more pricey than others because you pay for the quality and service. Think in the UK going to Next or Reiss. You’d choose Reiss right? Or at least know their quality is better. That’s with A Dong Silk. Perfect

A Dong Silk (Le Loi location) was one of three tailors I visited in Hoi An for a quote. They were not the cheapest, but the fabrics were better quality and the service was superior, especially Văn, and you get what you pay for. They provide a great tailoring service at excellent value. I got a velvet suit and a silk dress made with incredible turnaround time. First fitting within two days of measurement, and completed product on day 3. They can also courier to your hotel in Hoi An.

Really enjoyed my trip to a dong silk. We had excellent service from Chau and the whole team. Everything went really smoothly, from initial measurements, first fitting, alterations and final fitting. 48 hour turnaround from initial fitting to final outfit. Really happy with the suit. Hopefully will be back next time I’m in Vietnam!

I messaged via the website to arrange a fitting time and was messaged back and told I would be met at and arrange time the same day.
Upon turning up I met with "Loan" a wonderful Vietnamese lady who guided me on my choices, showing me various colours, holding them up against me and allowing me to decide. Then it was style/design and finishing details like what silk I'd like on the inside of my suits.
I was then measured and told to return late the following day for a final fitting, after the fitting I was told I could collect them the next morning.

I bought 2 suits and 2 shirts... And I love them!

A Dong Silk put prices on their website, so you know what to expect. No hard up sells, unlike the others.
I checked in another tailor and there were no prices, they said depends on what you want, and then the up sells started. I walked out.
A Dong Silk are genuine and would only ever go here now. The finish of my clothes is perfect!!

I was later told many hotels get commission which can be up to 40%, the result is quickly and cheaply made or lower quality finish to recover the extra cost.

Awesome experience! I had originally just ordered one dress however, it was so nicely made that I ordered a second one. Lee helped me with my order and was very attentive to any changes I wanted made to the dresses, as well sending me updates regarding fittings. We had a short stay in Hoi An and didn't have much time to have things made but the team at A Dong Silk were very realistic about turnaround times and what was possible. Definitely recommend if you are looking for high quality pieces.

Van did an incredible job with tailoring to my specific wishes. I was unsure at first - looking at all the pictures with skinny suits- wanting a full trouser (high waist) and slightly larger suit overall. I really apperciate the Detailing options and incrdible speed that A Dong Silk was able to adjust the suits.

Great selection of fabrics too. Come with some idea of what you want to make things smooth. Allow for 3 fittings over 3-4 days. The difference between the first, second, and third fittings is where you really see how custom shines!
